The Val di Fassa World Cups on display in Milan

Events in Val di Fassa presented at Apres Ski

Vernissage in Milan, on the occasion of the first edition of Apres Ski - Mountain Show for the World Cups in the Dolomites, which were presented jointly to the press for the third time thanks to the coordination of the Dolomiti Superski consortium, which encompasses 12 ski areas with over 1,200 km of slopes and 450 ski lifts accessible with a single ski pass.

There will be 11 World Cup events showcasing a total of 33 races where World Cup points will be awarded between December and March, including four events included in the calendar of the top international alpine skiing circuit in Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Kronplatz and Val di Fassa - Ski Area San Pellegrino.
Among the events scheduled, apart from the Olympic Games in February, which will take place in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Val di Fiemme and Anterselva, there are also three events on the calendar on the slopes of Trentino, namely the Tour de Ski on 3 and 4 January 2026, represented in Milan by the president of the Organising Committee Pietro De Godenz, the Women's Alpine Ski World Cup, which will return to the La VolatA slope in Val di Fassa on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 March, with details illustrated by the secretary general of the Organising Committee, Cristoforo Debertol, and the welcome confirmation of the Ski Cross World Cup in Park Monzoni on 30 and 31 January, in the San Pellegrino Ski Area, also in Val di Fassa, with organisational manager Ugo Fracasso rattling off numbers and expectations.
Among the aspects that emerged from the meeting was the fact that the two days of the Tour de Ski will feature a classic technique sprint and the traditional final climb with the finish line at Alpe del Cermis. De Godenz then pointed out that on 23 December, the Italian special jumping championships will be held on the Predazzo ski jumps. This will be the first competition on the new Olympic ski jumps.
As for Ski Cross, the World Cup returns after last year's success on the last Friday and Saturday of January. It will be the last race before the Olympic Games. As far as the technical aspects are concerned, everything has been confirmed, with the only change being the final straight, where the last bend will be eliminated, making the last phase of the race track safer and more spectacular. The hope is to see two Italian athletes on the podium again, as was the case last February when Jole Galli and Simone Deromedis stood out.
There is also great satisfaction in Val di Fassa for the return of a two-day event, or five days if we consider the three days of downhill trials, on the La VolatA slope after the unfortunate organisation of 2024, which was cancelled due to too much snow. In 2021, however, there was the extraordinary victory of Federica Brignone. Again, there were minor changes to the course, with the start of both races moved higher up and the finish area redesigned. Cristoforo Debertol then pointed out that tickets for the grandstand in the Passo San Pellegrino parterre will go on sale in December, while access to the side of the piste is free.
The other Alpine Ski World Cup races in the Dolomiti Superski area are on 19 and 20 December with the super-G and downhill in Val Gardena on the Saslong, on 21 and 22 December with the giant slalom and slalom on the Gran Risa in Val Badia, and on 20 January with the giant slalom on the Erta di Kronplatz.
