Tourist services are once again at the heart of life in Moena. After more than ten years at Centro Navalge, the Val di Fassa Tourist Board has reopened its office on the ground floor of the restored town hall on Piaz de Sotegrava, returning to a central, highly visible and easily accessible location. “Returning to the square is important to ensure that our guests have the best possible access to the information and services we provide,” says Nicolò Weiss, Director of the Val di Fassa Tourist Board.
The newly refurbished space, covering around 40 square metres, also overlooks Piazzetta Perle Alpine and the River Avisio. Large windows fill the rooms with natural light, while the furnishings and materials offer a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Ladin style.
The Val di Fassa Tourist Board has invested more than €50,000 in the interior fit-out, carried out by a local company, and in the digital equipment.
At the centre of the space is the ‘Cèsa Fascia’, a structure inspired by the traditional Ladin house and the surrounding mountain landscape. Visitors can browse maps, brochures and information about the region’s attractions and activities around this central feature. A small ‘stua’ area has also been created inside, providing a welcoming space for face-to-face interaction with staff.
Touchscreens and multimedia content, together with weather and timetable information and QR codes, further enhance the visitor experience. The office is also fully accessible via a convenient ramp.
Reclaimed fir wood from historic buildings, together with design elements inspired by the traditional hay barns of the Fassa Valley, creates a warm and distinctive atmosphere.
“The concept is essentially a template that we intend to adopt for the forthcoming refurbishment of our other tourist offices,” Weiss concludes.
